The Frame-Up

The Frame-Up is a middle grade work of art! Using the backdrop of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada author Wendy McLeod MacKnight paints a highly entertaining story that is both imaginative and fresh. Sargent Singer is estranged from his father and hopes to reconnect with him over summer vacation. Mona Dunn's portrait LIVES in the Beaverbrook Art Gallery (Think Harry Potter) and is looking for a little excitement and perhaps a new friend. Mona and Sargent's develop a sweet friendship with undertones of romance. I was delighted with the story and how it plays out. To be honest, I wasn't sure how Ms. MacKnight would resolve the conflict between father and son, but the ending was brilliant. Bravo! More, please.
